Okay I actually remade my current Lida character. My first Lida was a white she-wolf. They basically have the same personality. Only Lida basically lived out her life, while my current Lida is still a teen. I thought I would right out her story. Both of my Lidas have things in common.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was born blind, and deaf. All I could do was smell and feel my mother's warm soft and gentle pelt. I had many many siblings. I happened to be the youngest. My feeble body grew and I became able to see and hear. My parents were in love. When I was that young, I didn't really understand that depth in their eyes. When they looked at each other a spark flew. My mother was the alpha female, Kisa. She was amazing, gentle and harsh. The most beautiful female I knew. My father was the only wolf she ever lost a fight to. It was strange, my mother had once been lonely. My mother only had her sister at one time. Then my father, Thunder came along. She told him he could join the pack if he beat her in battle, just to test him. He won, and he claimed his prize, her love.
I was the last pup they had. I had many older siblings. Out of all of them my beautiful mother choose me to take her place. I grew up learning the magic of our small island. I was once pure white, like snow. The magic of our island gave me the wings I have now, and the green markings. I learned the ways of our mystic pack. My sister was second in line. She learned just like me. Fate was harsh and my mother had seen a dream. It warned that one of her daughters, the ones able to learn magic would disappear. I knew it was me.
Then I was young. I thought I was in love. The neighboring pack had a young male, the son of that alpha. We meant at a border, I was just supposed to check the border. He was dashing. He was tall, muscular and his coat was gray with white blotches. He was kind and sweet talked me into letting him get away. We met each other often. Because we were both betrothed already we decided to run away together. He swam across the water to the neighboring island. I flew watching over him.
When we arrived at the other island there were strange creatures. The animals were large and horrific. I found myself to be small compared to the wolves there. This was not our home land. When we were out hunting together we came across a bear. It attacked my mate. I flew and ripped the flesh from the back of its neck. My mate flew at it's vulnerable stomach as it stood on its hind legs. It's massive paw flew and struck him in the head. He flew and hit a tree. I heard his last breath. Infuriated I tried to kill the massive creature myself. To avenge the death of my mate. I bit at it's neck. It fell back wards. Crushing me with its wait. My head struck the ground, hard. I might have died if Magic did not flow through me. It took me a few hours to heal. Although my body healed my memory didn't. I wouldn't come to remember anything until some time later.
When I came to, I found myself under a Bear's body. I wiggled out from under it. I smelled blood and saw the body of a wolf lying next to a tree. I couldn't remember who it was back then. I was just frightened. I flew away from that place. I landed by a river and caught fish for about two moons. I grew accustomed to the land I had woken up in. I decided to explore.
I found myself at a pack border. As far as I could tell though, there was only two or three wolves here. I waited there, and then I heard a noise. I realized that a massive wolf was coming my way. His pelt was pitch black and his eyes were perfect blue. He was bigger than me, much bigger. Also bigger than the only other one of my kind I had seen. My reflection and the dead brute by the tree were the only ones of my kind I ever remembered seeing. It was an exciting and scary moment. He towered over me. I walked cautiously to wards him.
I remember I was a strong and independent creature. I would not cower in fear. Then her ears met a deep friendly voice. "Hello there, and who might you be?" I met those perfect blue eyes. I pressed my large white wings to my sides. I had no idea where the words came from. I did not remember what they met but they left my maw. "I-I'm Lida. I was wondering if I could join your pack." I now felt extremely confused.
What was a name, what was a pack? I shook my head, trying to remember, it gave me a headache but I suddenly started remembering the basics of a wolf's life. I had remembered how to hunt and I knew how to survive but now I was remembering how to interact. It made me feel happy. My ears met that voice again. "Hello Lida, I'm Killik the alpha of my pack. You can join if you like." He glanced me over a very friendly expression on his maw.
Before my eyes he turned into a monster. He resembled a wolf still. Yet he stood on two legs. His legs became longer than before. He was even larger than before. I was glad he didn't seem to want to eat me. He told me to follow him to camp. He ran on two legs slashing the branches of the trees with his claws. He was outrageously large. I spread my white and green feathers and followed through the air.
When we got to the so called camp, I saw another wolf. He resembled Killik but was not so large. He stayed on four paws and still looked completely like a wolf. He smelled of herbs. Killik had turned back into a wolf. He whispered in my ear that the other brute was his brother, Lakota. I blinked a greeting to the other male. Feeling giddy for some reason that there was a voice in my ear. I thought I faintly remembered a voice doing that before. Who had it been? I felt a pang of sorrow for a moment but it vanished.
I watched the days roll on. I enjoyed my time with Lakota and Killik, mostly Killik because Lakota was always in his den doing something with plants. Killik told me if I got injured go to Lakota. This seemed strange. I never got hurt so I never worried about it. When we went hunting I knew I was quite small, foxes here were the same size as me! It was slightly annoying. I was strong enough to bring down my prey though. Killik's gaze on me became softer and softer. When I looked at him I felt something strange in my heart. It was a warm pain. Grief, friendship, warmth and cold. I could not sort out the feelings.
I decided I would go back to the river. When I got there I could tell we had Increased our territory size. I caught a few fish. Then I looked into the crystal water. My green eyes met the my reflection. Suddenly I remembered everything. I sort of collapsed. My grief consumed me for a few minutes. Then I heard a voice call my name. I turned to see it was Killik. Now I understood what this feeling was. Love, and the sorrow for my lost love.
Killik made me feel better again, just seeing him. He looked at my catch. He gave me his fool's grin. Telling me he could catch a fish to. He went to the waters edge. When he lunged at a fish he slipped and fell in the water. I laughed at him. He came out of the water soaked, he shook off the water and laughed with me. I asked if he was okay. He said yes. Our eyes met and I could see that he had feelings for me. He suddenly nuzzled me, I knew what his question would be. "Lida, be my mate." I nuzzled him back. I knew that I wanted to say yes but I felt I was betraying my lost love. I agreed.
It was the next late spring when I found myself bearing pups. Both Killik and I were happy. I was very proud to be a mother. When they were born it was a full moon. There was 2 female pups and two males. They were large pups. I knew they would be a bit different then most wolves on this island. This island had large wolves like Killik, that turned into monsters. There were other winged wolves like me. There were normal wolves who were not different in any way. Then there were the wolves that scared me. There were wolves that drank the blood of their victims. I was curious to find that my pups, didn't pick one side to take after. When they were born the females had bat like wings, featherless. The males had feathers. We named them happily, when Killik came to visit me in the nursery. My daughters' names were Tsuki, and Rin. My sons were named, Toushiro and Kyoshiro.
Later I would learn my childrens' personalities. They were bundles of fun. Rin and Toushiro were always up to mischievous things. Kyoshiro who was unfortunately blind was the quietest. It pained me to know he would always be in the dark but at least his hearing was superb. Tsuki was more mature than the others I could see my mother in her. The boys resembled their father. Rin looked just like me only she had black fur, with blue markings, featherless wings.
My best memory was teaching them to fly. Rin asked me what wings were. Toushiro asked me what fly meant. I giggled. They were so cute, not knowing what was sprouted from their backs. I explained, but they had numerous questions. By the time the sun was at its highest I finally got to teach them how to fly. Their new wings didn't get them far off the ground though.
My pups grew up fast, I still remember clearly watching them slide across the ice on top of the pond. The moon glinting off their backs. I watched them grow up with Killik. My new family was wonderful. i realized this is all I ever wanted. I think the hardest part was letting them go. Rin became the mate of a blood drinking wolf. I disliked it and Killik hated it. We were both worried about her but gave her our blessings. Kyoshiro found a mate within our pack as did Toushiro. Toushiro became our beta wolf. Killik and I still have not grown old. I hope we can be like this forever.
Tsuki decided she would return to where my birthplace was. She wanted to be with the pack I was born in. I think it was hardest seeing her leave. My life story is an amazing one. I'm so glad to be the one who got to live it.
I really liked this character, this is why I kind of remade her. Anyway I find it depressing to see that this is probably my goodbye to her. My two lidas have a lot in common. I kinda don't like this ones story, I think its because its a finished story and I hate the words The End.
Oh well, I don't mind hearing your comments. I'm really glad we have this literature board otherwise I would be bursting with creativity and have no where to express it. I absolutely love writing. Don't be thinking this is my last writing. LOL ;D Oh and thank you to anyone who actually wasted their time reading this whole thing!
