"Ahh! I found a place to hide!" Lida slipped into the small tunnel. It was pouring outside. The sky was like a waterfall, less like cats and dogs more like hippos and elephants. She was soaked to the bone and freezing. She flapped her wings trying to dry off. The feathers felt warmer than her skin, even wet. She sprinted down the tunnel and sat down in the dim light of a cavern. She was so cold... She didn't feel like moving an inch. She was just so tired. She leaned against the wall with a faint glimpse of content. It wasn't so bad, she breathed heavily. Her head tipped back. She knew better than to fall asleep like this but it was so cold. She was just so tired. The dim light made her feel very alone. No one was here, alone in almost the dark. Alone again. She thought of her parents. Now she was all alone, an orphan. It was so lonely right now. She couldn't help herself, she felt miserable and began to cry.
